It was my pleasure Saturday, November 15 to host Jane LaFazio as our guest artist at the J & J Ranch. The retreat was a sellout with 18 fabulous students of all levels in attendance. And the weather was perfect to boot. After a brief introduction we walked the loop to discover plants that called to us and brought them back into the studio to sketch and watercolor. In the afternoon Jane demonstrated how to draw and paint a landscape. It was wonderful to see the meadow dotted with artists creating out in nature!

I just love your White Sage. Nice blend of color and symmetry.
Thanks, Mark – I had a lot of fun mixing colors to get the hue just right. Sage is one of my favorites. There’s nothing else that smells as sweet this time of year.
