This summer solstice was as sparkly as my book cover’s silver shoes. Full of surprises it will go on my list as one of the most exciting days ever!

It began with a live TV interview on Good Morning San Diego with Lauren Phinney.

Then I learned Buzzfeed had listed The Silver Shoes as one of 5 historical fiction reads for Jane Austen lovers. The article says “These stories are perfect for fans of Jane Austen. Filled with intriguing historical settings, engaging characters, and hints of romance, these novels are going to transport you to another time.” She’s always been my favorite author so this really thrills me.

The evening release celebration at Warwick’s, La Jolla was packed with friends old and new dressed in their own silver shoes and 1920s flapper era attire. I got to be in the limelight at the podium as long as I wanted. I spoke about how I write, read snippets from the book and answered questions. Then I signed lots and lots of copies of The Silver Shoes. What fun!

Thank you to those who came out and to Nancy, Emily and the Warwick’s staff for making my night so special. I wish you all could have been there but here are some pictures so you can celebrate with me from afar!
