A few months ago, on my way to yoga, while riding down Descanso’s Boulder Creek Road, I spotted a hubcap. All during yoga I kept thinking of that hubcap and all the fun ways I could mosaic it. So on my way back up the hill, I stopped the jeep, jumped out, and picked up the round disk.
I took it straight to my studio and stuck it in the sink. It took me three days to scrub all the grime off it, and I decided to mosaic it with a transportation theme. It was so much fun to pull things from my found object stash of small toys to put on it: horses, cars, trucks, airplanes, etc. I grouted with a mixture of seed bead & safety glass and voila here it is – TRANSPORT ME!
