What a Day & Night!

This summer solstice was as sparkly as my book cover’s silver shoes. Full of surprises it will go on my list as one of the most exciting days ever!

It began with a live TV interview on Good Morning San Diego with Lauren Phinney.

Then I learned Buzzfeed had listed The Silver Shoes as one of 5 historical fiction reads for Jane Austen lovers. The article says “These stories are perfect for fans of Jane Austen. Filled with intriguing historical settings, engaging characters, and hints of romance, these novels are going to transport you to another time.” She’s always been my favorite author so this really thrills me.

The evening release celebration at Warwick’s, La Jolla was packed with friends old and new dressed in their own silver shoes and 1920s flapper era attire. I got to be in the limelight at the podium as long as I wanted. I spoke about how I write, read snippets from the book and answered questions. Then I signed lots and lots of copies of The Silver Shoes. What fun!

Thank you to those who came out and to Nancy, Emily and the Warwick’s staff for making my night so special. I wish you all could have been there but here are some pictures so you can celebrate with me from afar!

    1. I’ll be at Book Catapult in South Park on July 11. It would be great to see you then. I’ll be sending out a newsletter soon with my other events too.

  2. So very sorry to have missed this event….but it sounds like a great night and a huge success all the way around! Will pick up a signed copy of your book next time I see you!

  3. Wow! And congrats on making the Warwick’s Bestseller List! First an Amazon bestseller, now Warwick’s! Next stop The New York Times. So happy for all of your success.

Congratulations Jill! What a fun evening you created with the roaring 20’s theme. It just added to the readings and book release. You are the best. Trish

It looks like it was a tremendous night; you deserved every minute of it. A summer solstice to remember, for sure! I can’t wait to read the book.
    You glow girl!!!

Jill, Congratulations on all of your successes. You are a force to be reckoned with! Sorry we missed the festivities – I’m looking forward to reading your new book.

  7. So glad to know you. Wish I could have been there but nowadays, since I can’t walk, I depend on my son for rides and he’s not always available. Not for long, I hope, as ex-husband will become my new husband, and can take me in the future. Btw, my friend, Susi Reed, who belongs to a book club, just had your book as the month’s choice.

    1. So nice to hear from you Penelope, but saddened you aren’t doing well. I hope you are still writing. “Getting Rid of Ian” was hysterical. Thanks for telling me about your friend. I love it when book clubs read and discuss my novels.
