J&J4On July 26 Judy Reeves facilitated a wonderful group of women in nature writing at the J & J Ranch. We wandered the property in search of inspirational props to write about. Lots of quiet time to breathe the sage & write in community. A big thanks to Judy and all those that participated!

Here’s the start of a poem I drafted that day inspired by a piece by Chief Dan George.

Speaks to Me

The smell of the sage
The golden of the buckwheat
The shade of the oaks
Speak to me

The horses in the pasture
Blue jay feathers fly
Bunnies scampering by
Speak to me.

Here’s my friend Indy who also wrote with us that day. See the lovely smile on her face!
