In 1888, medium and clairvoyant Katherine Tingley continues to have a childhood dream of a white city on a sundown sea. While serving immigrants at her Do-Good Mission on Manhattan’s East Side, she encounters William Q. Judge, a mesmerist and leader of the American Section of the Theosophical Society. She becomes his student, and he guides her on a path that could make her vision become a reality. After Judge dies, she takes over as head of the organization, and in 1900 moves headquarters from New York City to San Diego. Here she sets out to establish Lomaland, a school and arts colony on a beautiful peninsula, where people from around the globe will reside in harmony and spread humanity around the world. However, betrayals, lies, and libels accumulate until a monumental court case ultimately decide her fate and the fate of the white city on a sundown sea.
