1. Chop up Glamour magazines and throw them in the compost pile.
2. Lose eyesight so as not to see wrinkles in the mirror.
3. Sift through closet. Donate high heels, mini dresses and too tight jeans to the Good Will. (Only keep the bathing suit with little skirt.)
4. Set aside time for yoga and long walks several times a week and really do it.
5. Sprinkle calendar with extended time for favorite friends and loved ones.
6. Peel back the layers of ego until there is nothing left but an open heart filled with forgiveness, serenity and gratitude.
This made me smile! Love your ideas, especially the last one! :0)
Thanks, Indy! I hope you can relate to this recipe.
This is wonderful Jill!
Mary – Glad you like it. The recipe was written during Judy Reeves Winter Solstice Retreat at Inspirations Gallery. You might want to try writing your own recipe too. It’s a lot of fun!
Loved it when you wrote it at the Winter Solstice retreat, Jill, and love it now on your blog. Goosebumps and smiles. I love the last line. Well, I like all of them, but the last line really resonated. Happy birthday.
Judy,
When I was writing with you at the retreat it was so magical when these words appeared on the page. You are such a muse!
Well done. Every suggestion is perfect for a good life growing old gracefully. This is why 60 is the new 40 right? I like the statement in #4 “and really do it”
Pat – Yes, 60 is the new 40. In fact, I am happier and healthier now than when I was 40. Life is grand!
Loved reading this poem again this year, Jill. Happy happy birthday. Love sharing the journey with you.
Lol. I’m working on number two. I’ve got a way to go before I rest:) I’ll contact you for tips on how to get there more quickly.
