I can’t believe The Black Velvet Coat was launched a year ago. It has been one filled with fun, magic and plenty of surprises. Below I’ve provided a few photos to prove it. I have so many reasons to be grateful and here are ten of them:
1. I had over 35 events surrounding my book and my stamina and health held! I downed daily supplements, continued yoga classes and tried to balance my calendar as best I could.
2. My husband, Jerry, who encouraged me to go for it, celebrated with me and played sherpa as needed.
3. My mentor, Judy Reeves, who was with me from my first draft to the last and then also attended most of my public events. Judy, where would I be without you and San Diego Writers, Ink?
4. My stellar publisher, Brooke Warner and She Writes Press for teaching me how to be an authorpreneur by guiding me through the process and giving me pep talks.
5. My friends who attended events and hosted me in their homes for book talks and signings.
6. The independent bookstores around the country for welcoming me into their stores and having my book available for sale especially Warwick’s and West Grove South Park.
7. The organizations around town for inviting me to speak: Adventures by the Book, The Women’s Museum of California, and Friends of San Diego Central Library to name a few.
8. The people around the world who have read my book. Many of which wrote Amazon reviews for me. I now have 128 with an average 4.5!
9. Facebook followers on my author page who have liked my posts and forwarded information about my book to their friends.
10. The press who has been kind to me. Here is the most recent article by Jennifer Coburn for the Mid City Newspaper Group.
And the fun continues! My next public appearance is the Talmadge Art Show.
I’ll be signing “The Black Velvet Coat” and showing my mosaics.
